The Japanese Football Association (JFA) have confirmed the home and away fixture lists for the 2019 World Cup in Japan, with all three of Japan’s top two leagues set to be played.

Japan will be playing at home against Argentina on Sunday, with the away fixture being against Honduras on Tuesday.

The JFA confirmed the fixtures on Monday afternoon, with a list which included both the top two Japanese leagues and the three remaining top-level competitions.

The fixture lists were revealed ahead of a scheduled date of confirmation for the final draw of the 2019 FIFA World Cup, which will take place on June 30.

The draw will take account of the nations’ qualification to the tournament, as well as their performances during the 2019 Asian Cup in Korea and the World Cup Qualifying Tournament in Japan.

Japan has yet to confirm the schedule for the games, but it will be a difficult challenge to make the two-match draw work as it would require both sides to face each other on two occasions.
