Australia has won the World Cup for the first time in its history, beating New Zealander New Zealand 3-0 to reach the finals.

Australia has lost the previous two matches.

The victory means Australia now has the most medals won by any country in a single World Cup.

The first was in 1954 when the Americans defeated the Soviet Union.

The final match will be held on Wednesday (AEST).

The tournament is being played for the fourth time.

The previous four finals were won by Japan.

Australia’s previous World Cup victory was in 1970.

New Zealand beat Argentina 3-1 in a final in Brisbane in January.

Australia will face New Zealand in the final on Sunday.

The team will face England in the semi-finals on Wednesday.
