France overcame Brazil to secure a fifth Euro 2020 title, beating the hosts 3-1 in Berlin.
The hosts had won the last two tournaments with the highest domestic attendance, but it was the French who dominated possession and created more chances in the opening exchanges.
It was the first time that the French had beaten Brazil since 2003.
A goal from Étienne Capoue put France ahead before the break.
It then looked as though Brazil would score two minutes before half-time.
André Gomes struck again before the interval, but the hosts had a penalty appeal turned down.
But France held on for a deserved win, and their next two fixtures against the hosts are away to Slovakia and against Denmark.
The next game is against Ukraine in Kiev on Friday, and the next fixture against the Netherlands is in Warsaw on Sunday.
It will be the first appearance for the new-look France squad.
